Plastering
Skimming, rendering, dry lining and repair
Plastering is the trade that decides how everything else looks. Paint cannot hide a wavy wall, wallpaper will not sit flat over a bad patch, and a skirting board scribed to a bowed wall always shows.
We skim walls and ceilings, patch and repair, board and dry line, install and repair plasterboard, and render externally. Where a previous repair has been filled and filled again, it is usually quicker and always better to skim the whole wall than to chase the patch across it forever.
Skimming and over-boarding
Skim coats over sound plaster and freshly boarded walls, and over-boarding where an old artexed or cracked ceiling is not worth saving. Corners beaded properly, edges cut in at the frames, and the surface left flat and ready for a mist coat.
Patch repair and making-good
Repairing the damage other work leaves behind: chased cables, moved sockets, removed fireplaces, old radiator brackets, leaks that blew the plaster, and holes where a bathroom used to have a pipe. This is what keeps a multi-trade job looking deliberate rather than patched.
Dry lining and plasterboard
Studwork and boarding for partitions and boxing-in, dot-and-dab to masonry, insulated and moisture-resistant board where the room needs it, taped and jointed or skimmed. Good for workplaces where a layout needs changing without a building project.
Rendering
External rendering and render repair, including patching where a downpipe or a drip has blown a section off, and re-finishing to match the surrounding wall as closely as the original mix allows. Repaired first, then painted by our own decorators if you want the elevation finished.
