Flagging, fencing and general groundworks
Most Altrincham gardens do not need redesigning. They need the patio to stop rocking, the fence to stop leaning, the gate to shut on its own and the step to stop being a trip hazard. That is hard landscaping, and it is what we do.
Paving and flagging, sub-base and drainage, fencing, gates, decking repair, sleeper edging, steps and general groundworks — laid on a proper base with a fall away from the house, because a patio that drains towards the brickwork causes problems indoors within a couple of winters.
Paving and flagging
Patios, paths and hardstanding in flags, block paving and porcelain: existing surface lifted, sub-base dug out and compacted, laid to a fall, pointed and finished. Sunken and rocking slabs re-laid, and edging restraints put in where the original had none — which is usually why the edge has crept.
Fencing and gates
Close-board and panel fencing, posts concreted in, gravel boards, trellis toppers, side gates and double gates hung, latches and drop bolts fitted, and repairs to electric gate hardware — one reviewer lists electric gate repairs among the jobs we have handled for them. Panels painted or treated afterwards if you want it done in one go.
Decking, steps and edging
Decking repaired, boards replaced, frames re-fixed and rails made safe; steps rebuilt and levelled; sleeper and timber edging for beds and raised borders. One Google review covers decking repairs alongside gutter clearance and a leak repair — a typical multi-trade list in one booking.
Groundworks and drainage
Digging out and disposal, hardcore and sub-base, drainage channels and gullies to move water away from the house, concrete bases for sheds, bins and hot tubs, and small retaining walls. Shed re-felting too — that turns up in reviews as well.
