Doors, floors, stairs, built-ins — made to fit the room you actually have
Older Altrincham housing stock is rarely square, and that is why joinery is the trade people ring us about most. A door that binds in winter, a floor that dips in front of the hearth, a chimney breast with two useless recesses either side of it — none of those are solved by something bought in a box.
We measure, cut and fit on site so the finished piece follows the walls you have rather than the walls a drawing assumed. The firm's own promise is a professional finish on every joinery job, and that is the bar: no packers on show, no filler doing structural work.
Doors, frames and the bits around them
Hanging new internal and external doors, easing and re-hanging ones that have dropped, replacing worn hinges and latches, fitting locks and closers, and making good the frame, architrave and stops afterwards. Replacement UPVC doors are supplied and fitted too — one Google reviewer had exactly that alongside a run of other work on the same visit.
Fitted storage and built-ins
Alcove shelving, understairs cupboards, wardrobes built into a chimney recess, boxing-in for pipework and meters, loft hatches and window seats. We build in situ and scribe to the wall, so there is no two-inch gap behind the unit collecting dust.
Floors, stairs and timber repair
Laying laminate, engineered and solid timber floors, silencing squeaking boards and loose treads, replacing rotten sections, re-fixing loose spindles and newel posts, and re-cutting nosings. Where a floor problem is really a damp or joist problem, we say so before we cover it up.
Kitchen and bathroom joinery
Fitting and replacing kitchen units, worktops, end panels, plinths and cornice; hanging and adjusting doors that have gone out of line; fitting bathroom furniture, vanity units and bath panels. We also take on the small remedial joinery that finishes a plumbing or decorating job properly.
