Gutters, fascias, roof repair and drainpipes
Almost every damp problem inside a house starts outside it. A blocked gutter overflows down the wall, the wall stays wet, and six months later there is a stain on the bedroom ceiling and a bill four times larger than a gutter clearance would have been.
We clear and repair gutters, re-fix and replace fascias, soffits and bargeboards, repair roofs, replace slipped and broken tiles and slates, re-bed ridges and verges, and clean and maintain downpipes and gullies. All of it from proper access, and all of it reported back to you with what we actually saw up there.
Gutters and downpipes
Clearing moss, silt and leaves, re-setting falls so water actually reaches the outlet, replacing failed brackets, unions and leaking joints, fitting new sections and whole runs, and clearing downpipes and gullies at the bottom. Best done before winter rather than during it.
Fascias, soffits and bargeboards
Re-fixing and replacing rotten timber and tired UPVC, closing the gaps that let birds and squirrels into the roof void, and decorating timber boards afterwards so they last. Where a board has failed because the gutter behind it has been leaking for years, we fix the cause at the same time.
Roof repair
Slipped, cracked and missing tiles and slates replaced, ridge and verge re-bedded or re-pointed, flashings and lead re-dressed, valleys cleared, and flat roof patch repairs. Repair work rather than whole roof replacement — and if the honest answer is that the covering has reached the end of its life, we will tell you that instead of selling you a patch a year.
The rest of the outside
Exterior painting of render, masonry, doors and timber, moss and algae removal from paths and patios, outside taps and lighting, shed and outbuilding repair and re-felting, and airbrick and vent clearance. One visit, ladder up once.
