Decorating
Preparation first — which is the only reason paint lasts
Decorating is the job most people start themselves and then ring someone about. The cutting-in is fiddly, the second coat never looks like the first, and the wall you filled has come up shinier than the wall you did not.
We take rooms on whole — prep, paint, woodwork, and the making-good where a radiator or a socket meets the plaster — and exteriors too, from fascias and soffits to fences and sheds. One Google reviewer had a large number of fence panels painted and a shed re-felted in the same booking, which is very much how our decorating work tends to arrive.
Interior decorating
Walls, ceilings, woodwork and radiators. We fill and caulk properly, sand back, spot-prime bare patches and new filler, and use the right paint for the surface — moisture-resistant in bathrooms and kitchens, hard-wearing on hallway walls and stair spindles that get touched a hundred times a day.
Wallpapering and feature walls
Hanging paper and lining, stripping old paper and putting right the plaster underneath — the part that turns a one-day job into two when it is skipped. If the wall needs skimming first, our plasterers do it and the paper goes on a sound surface.
Exterior decorating
Rendered and masonry walls, timber cladding, fascias, soffits, bargeboards, front doors, garage doors, fences, gates, decking and sheds. Prepared and coated to take a Cheshire winter, and scheduled for dry weather rather than squeezed in regardless.
Left as we found it
Furniture moved and protected, dust sheets down before the tins come out, edges cut in rather than masked and hoped for, and the room put back and hoovered at the end. Punctual, fast, very reasonable, professional is a real quote from a real Google review, and the tidying-up is a large part of why.
